This Kim is not the same Kim Younkin who shows up first in a Google search of the name. Who knew?! That Kim Younkin is a musician who lives in the U.S. Southwest and looks to have a rather tidy local and regional following.
This Kim Younkin (Kimberly, for distinction from the guitar guy) is a writer, wife and mother of two boys who also wanted to play the guitar that now hangs on a nice hook in her upstairs cedar closet, but went to law school instead because she thought it would relieve her money worries. Which is hilarious to her, in hindsight. Anyway, she retired from law practice and now writes all kinds of stuff while at home with her children. (Technically, they’re not home or awake when such writing takes place, though they are part of the creative sparks behind the words.)
Kim recently wrote a monthly parenting humor column for the print publication, Columbus Parent magazine, and her humor pieces have also been published at Imperfect Parent.com and other outlets. Prior to her work in print she was an online columnist at MommiesMagazine.com. Her general parenting nonfiction appears in Adams Media’s A Cup of Comfort for Mothers to Be (2006) and online. She is currently at work on so many things she can’t keep them straight — including 16 novel ideas, 8036 unfinished short stories (her fiction can be seen in the archives of Wild Violet online literary magazine), 8 screenplays, barrels of bad poetry, reprints of some of her funniest stuff, writing contests, and errant grocery lists.

Can’t wait to start reading it!
We can’t wait to read your book – you have such a way with words! Your writing is always good for a laugh and helps us to laugh at ourselves (when we often want to cry!)
Sheryl and Tim
when’s the book signing?
Hopefully this year!
Thanks Traci!
Kim, You will be fantastic!
Did you find my flippin’ crab yet?
I can’t wait to read more, Kim. I enjoy your perspective and wish I had your courage to share stories in the same fashion. Keep it up, I look forward to reading your work.
Look forward to reading more!
Crabby is permanently gone. I need to check the bottom of my shoes!
Thanks for the nice comments everyone!
I tagged you for a meme. I’m not sure if you “do” that, or even where the right place is to post it, so feel free to delete my comment if necessary.

Kemi, I have no idea what being tagged for a meme means. I’m quite the novice at blogging. Can you educate me? (But only if it doesn’t mean something really bad!
)
LOL, this was my first meme, too. (What a relief to know I’m not the only one lacking experience!) I had to google “meme” to figure it all out.
It’s a “seven random things about me” list, essentially, that you turn into a post. I guess. That’s how I did it. *shrug*
Okay, you are really going to help me get with it by learning this! Not surprisingly, I do not know 7 bloggers (yet), but I will do my best to rise to the challenge at least by Easter!
I’m looking forward to checking out your blog…
